INTRODUCTION

IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS

ITC Spa, Inc. strongly suggests that you contact your local, qualified electrician and plumber to install your Footspa. It cannot operate efficiently or safely unless it is provided with adequate electrical power, sufficient water pressure, proper water temperature and required drain facilities. Information on these important subjects is contained in this manual. We urge you to read it carefully to make sure these requirements are met.

PRECAUTIONS

1.       Excessive water temperature is dangerous and should be checked BEFORE use. Maximum temperature of water should never exceed 100 degrees F.

2.       Always enter and exit the Footspa slowly and carefully.

TELL EACH AND EVERY CUSTOMER TO "SLOW DOWN"

3.       NEVER bring and/or operate any chemical devices into or near the Footspa.

RECEIPT & INSPECTION

PLEASE TAKE NOTE! Thoroughly inspect each shipment immediately upon arrival. It is important that you notify the driver and insist on a notation of the damage. Make this notation directly on the face of the freight bill or bill lading. Failure to note damage on the face of the freight bill or bill lading may impede and/or prevent any claims that you may have against the carrier.

If concealed loss or damage is found, you must notify the carrier at once and request an inspection. DO NOT DISCARD THE SHIPPING CARTON. If you give the carrier a clear receipt for goods that have been damaged in transit, you do so at your own risk and expense.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

ULTILITIES

ITC Spa must be conveniently located near adequate utilities; such as:

A - ELECTRICAL SERVICE

An 110V, 60Hz, 15Amp, GFCI protected grounded circuit MUST be used to supply power to the Footspa. A dedicated circuit must be used with a GFCI. All wiring must conform to National and Local Electrical Codes.

WARNING!

YOU MUST CALL A QUALIFIED, LICENSED ELECTRICIAN TO CONNECT THIS FOOTSPA SAFELY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DEATH DUE TO ELECTRICAL SHOCK.

B - WATER SUPPLY

Water supply to the pedicure spa should consist of a system that will provide both adequate water pressure and water temperature. All plumbing connections must conform to local codes.

B.1 - WATER PRESSURE

Normal water pressure of 30 to 120 PSI is required to correctly fill the tub to proper levels.

B.2 - WATER TEMPERATURE

The water temperature should never exceed 100 degrees F. This temperature should not pose a problem for any normal water heater in good working order.

C - DRAIN FACILITIES

Connect the Footspa drain to meet local plumbing codes using 1-½ schedule 40 PVC drain pipe and appropriate traps (refer to detailed Installation Drawings in this manual).

INSTALLATION SUMMARY

CAREFULLY READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL

The installation MUST comply with local, state and national building, plumbing and electrical codes, where applicable. A licensed plumber should complete the installation. Electrical wiring, components and connections MUST be completed by a licensed electrician.

A - LOCATION AND SUPPORT CONSIDERATIONS

Select a level location where the floor structure beneath the Footspa is capable of supporting the Footspa.

VERY IMPORTANT!

If one requires the seat back to recline to its maximum, the base of the Footspa must be a minimum of 12" (31cm) from the back wall. If this distance is less, the seat back will still recline, however it will hit the back wall.

IMPORTANT!

After all plumbing and electrical connections have been made; two (2) lag screws or similar fasteners (not supplied) must be driven through the base to secure Footspa to the floor.

WARRANTY IS NULL & VOID IF FOOTSPA IS NOT SECURELY FASTENED TO FLOOR

B - PLUMBING CONNECTIONS

All plumbing connections, drain and fresh water should be made by a qualified, licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing and building codes.

B.1 - HOT AND COLD WATER SUPPLT LINES

Carefully connect ½" ID supply tubes to a fresh water source. Shut-off valves should be utilized.

B.2 - CONNECT DRAIN

Using 1-½ schedule 40 PVC drain pipe and appropriate traps, connect drain to meet local plumbing codes. Refer to Installation Drawing in this manual for options.

C - ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS & WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

All electrical connections MUST be made by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with Local and National Electrical and Building Codes. An 110V, 60Hz, 15Amp, GFCI protected grounded circuit MUST be used to supply power to the Footspa (220V if ordered). A dedicated circuit must be used with a GFCI. All wiring must conform to National and Local Electrical Codes.

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE FOOTSPA OPERATE WITH GFCI PROTECTION.

4.       Replace duplex outlets and cover.

5.       Plug pump/motor into once outlet. Plug AC adapter/transformers into outlets. Plug control box for seat motors into outlet.

WARNING!

You must call a qualified, licensed electrician to connect this Footspa Safely. Failure to do so may result in serious injury and/or death due to electrical shock.

D - TESTING THE FOORSPA

After the plumbing and electrical connections have been made and the base unit has been secured to the floor, clean the tub and fill with water to above the 4 Jets escutcheon cover level.

After the tub is filled with water, press the button on the front of the Footspa and check for leaks at the drain overflow and all inlet and suction fittings. After checking under the tub for leaks, press the same button a second time to turn the pump motor "OFF" and drain the tub of water.

OPERATION AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

TO FILL: Close the over-flow/waste control. Utilizing the single level faucet located on the front of the Footspa, fill the tub with water. You must completely submerge 4 jets. If, during operation of the whirlpool, water level decreases, simply add more water.

TO START: Press button on the front of Footspa. Press again to shut off pump.

IMPORTANT!

DONOT turn the spa "ON" unless adequate water is in the tub.
THE WARRANTY IS VOID WHEN THE PUMP HAS BEEN RUN DRY.

SEAT & BACK ADJUSTMENTS

Both seat bottom and seat back are adjustable. Simply press the appropriate button on the hand held control wand to change the position

DO NOT BLOCK THE JETS DURING WHIRLPOOL OPERATION!

CLEANING THE FOOTSPA:

Keep the lint screen on the suction inlet clean. Any blockage or obstructions in the screen reduces the whirlpool action and may cause damage to the pump. It is not necessary to remove the screen to clean it, however it may be removed. To clean the screen, unscrew the fitting cover. Remove any lint or debris and then wash the screen with a soft brush. Replace the screen.

CAUTION!

Never run the whirlpool with the screen removed.

CLEANING THE ACRYLIC SURFACES:

Your Footspa will be a continual delight over the years if you merely give it ordinary care. The Footspa is manufactured using the highest quality materials. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE PADS OR CLEANERS THAT WILL SCRATCH OR DULL THE PLASTIC SURFACE OR THE METAL ACCESSORIES.

After the Footspa is cleaned with a non-abrasive cleanser and thoroughly dried, a light coat of a qualified, clear liquid wax (example: Future™) may be used to maintain a "like new" finish. However, this wax must be used very sparingly, especially in the tub area itself.

The chrome plumbing fixture and fittings have a baked-on coating which should be cleaned ONLY with gentle soap, warm water and dab dry with a clean, soft cloth.

IMPORTANT!

Flush your whirlpool system twice a month or more depending on usage.

CLEANING/FLUSHING THE WHIRLPOOL SYSTEM:

It is recommended that the whirlpool system (includes pump, jets, suction fitting, piping, etc.) be flushed periodically (Not exceed 30 days). This is over and above the normal cleaning of the exterior plastic surfaces. The interior of this system may be flushed as follows:

1.       Fill Footspa with hot water to required level.

2.       Add 3 teaspoons of a low foaming dishwasher detergent such as Calgonite or Cascade, and 2 ounces of household bleach, such as Chlorox, to the water.

3.       Run whirlpool for 10-15 minutes and drain Footspa.

4.       Fill with cold water to required level and run unit for another 5-10 minutes. Drain Footspa, and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

NOTE: Whirlpool action can cause even a small amount of soap or body oil to foam excessively. For this reason, refrain from using these products during the whirlpool cycle.

WARNING!

DO NOT use if you are diabetic, have poor circulation, or if any area of your feet or legs is inflamed or has an open wound. Consult a physician before using if you have any kind of fungal infection, swelling, fracture or persistent pain.

Massage should be pleasant and comfortable.
If you feel pain or discomfort, discontinue using immediately and consult a physician
